Streaming Netflix Applications for the Droid

Google has recently launched their new mobile operating system Android to compete with Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod operating systems. The Droid has been a very popular phones as the Verizon Wireless Network provides great coverage on phones. The recent Droid release of the Nexus One has proven popular as many new applications and templates are built based on the Android operating system. As Netflix recently released news of joining the iPad development market and producing an iPad app available in the iTunes Store. This means they will be bringing the streaming Netflix application to smartphones such as the Droid, iPhone, Windows Phone 7, Blackberry, Palm, and more. You might ask yourself what all features would be on this great Netflix app?

Features

If your looking to stream Netflix on your Droid, then you will be very happy to see what kind of features you will be working with on your mobile device. The Droid will allow you to load the Netflix application that you can download through Google’s Marketplace along with the iTunes Store. The features will include logging in to your account, changing movies or TV shows on your list, and changing your contact information. Once the initial release of the application is made to the store, future updates will include access to stream Netflix movies straight from your Droid phone.

User Interface

The user interface features will allow you to easily change your settings, movies, or account on the go. You will be able to access your Netflix account from any location. Once the Netflix streaming movie services are released for the Droid, you will be able to sort and search for your favorite movies or shows. There will also be functionality to fast forward and rewind through movies on the Droid.

What about Apple?

Netflix has released news that they will be bringing their Netflix services to the iPad. This application will be available in the iTunes Store. They will also be releasing a version that will work for smaller devices like the iPhone and iPod. You will be able to access your Netflix account straight from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod if you’ve downloaded the Netflix application from the iTunes Store.
