Most people will ask themselves, “What do I need a tablet for?” or “Why would I buy something with so much less computer power than a PC?”. Apple has been on a frenzy lately to try and advertise their newly released iPad that is competing with Amazon’s eBook reader the Kindle. Mobile computing, social networking, and eBooks will be the main reasons you will see more companies hop on the tablet bandwagon.

With the cost of wi-fi and the ability to access wireless networks in any store or office building, more and more companies will be able to cut costs by using mobile computing to run projects and programs instead of spending hundreds of millions of dollars on office space. The mobile computing frenzy will be fueled by the social networking and tablet revolution.

eBooks

The new iBook Store that is similar to the iTunes Store, has already sold over 600,000 iBooks. This tells us that once digital libraries come on line, they will be able to plug them into an online marketplace of sorts to bring eBooks to the mainstream. Tablets were solely first created as an eBook reader. Combining digital books with multimedia will be a great way to revolutionize the eBook and Tablet madness.

Mobile Networking

Another great tool the tablet provides is a way to interact with users on their favorite social networking sites. Tablets like the iPad, Kindle, and Research In Motion tablet provide great avenues to stream netflix or other on demand movie services. Games will also be a great way to connect with other users through Wi-Fi networks on your favorite tablet.
